Congratulations to Georgetown's Newest Student Group: Undergraduate Bioethics Society
January 12, 2012
Congratulations to the Georgetown University Undergraduate Bioethics Society (UBS) members and officers! After a year-long process, the UBS now is an officially recognized student group at the University. The Center for Student Programs's new club development process requires student leaders to meet many requirements, including, attending multiple training sessions, co-sponsoring events, drafting a constitution, developing an election process and transition plans for new leadership, and personally presenting their accomplishments before the CSP Board. The UBS is preparing to host the 2013 National Undergraduate Bioethics Conference at Georgetown, which will bring undergraduates to GU from across the US. Special congratulations to Co-Presidents Sam Dowling (COL '13) and Jessica Alpert (COL '14), founding members of the UBS and officers in both 2011 and 2012. We also recognize Secretary Kasla Clarke (COL '13), Treasurer Grace McElhenny (NHS '14), Public Relations Officer Mary Clare Bernal (COL '14), and past Co-Presidents Olivier de Wouters (SFS '11) and P. Joseph Drouin II (SFS '11).
