How to get to George Washington University

Location: The Department of Clinical Bioethics is located in Room 1C118 in Building 10 (Clinical Center) of the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda Campus. This is on the first floor of the northeast corner of the building.

When you come into the main entrance (large canopy and revolving doors), take an immediate right and go left down the long hallway. At the end of the hallway make an immediate left (the Masur Auditorium will be on your left) and jog an immediate right into o through this area through the double doors into a high-ceilinged atrium area. Cross the atrium and go down diagonal hallway (a wall of art/paintings will be on left and the Cafe Verde will be on the right). At the end of the hallway you will see Cashier`s Office and overhead sign for Lipsett Auditorium. Turn to the right and walk past Cashier`s Office and then turn immediately left (do not go to the right toward the Lipsett Auditorium). Upon turning left the area will open up to a large anteroom (with seating) and diagonally across room is entrance to the Department of Clinical Bioethics.

If the above is too confusing, you can also go to the information desk in the main lobby and ask them to call the Department at 6-2429. Someone will come and escort you to the Department.

From Anywhere via the Metro:

Take the Red Line toward Shady Grove. Get off the Red Line at the Medical Center stop (the stop after Bethesda). Come up the escalators and walk straight for about 300 yards to a complex intersection (the direction is roughly west). Cross the intersection diagonally, going straight and to the right curb. Continue to walk straight in the westerly direction. The second roadway is Memorial Drive. Cross Memorial Drive, Building 9 is on your right, and continue walking straight for about 300 feet (there will be a set of white lines defining the correct path). A sign on your right will indicate that you are at Building 10, The Clinical Center. Walk up hill on the driveway to the brushed aluminum awning over the entrance that has slowly rotating circular door. Enter the main lobby.

From Reagan National Airport:

Get onto Beltway (495) heading into Maryland and exit at Old Georgetown Road. At the end of the exit ramp go right on Old Georgetown Road toward Bethesda. Go through 3 traffic lights and turn left at the traffic light on Center Drive. (Center Drive is the turn just after Cedar Lane). At the first stop sign, the driver should turn right and then go down about one third of a mile to the next stop sign and turn left. Follow the signs to visitor parking. Proceed to Clinical Center.

From Baltimore:

Take 95 to Beltway (495) heading towards College Park and exit onto Wisconsin Avenue, south towards Bethesda. Go approximately 1 mile and you will see NIH on the right (the Naval Medical Hospital will be on the left). Turn right onto South Drive (first light after Cedar Lane) and follow directions to visitor parking. Proceed to Clinical Center, Building 10.

Location: The seminar is held in the Academic Center, Room 411, the Dean`s conference room. The Academic Center is a large, modern-looking building close to the corner of 22nd and I (Eye) Sts. NW. Enter the building through the main doors, take the elevator to the 4th floor, then take a left and follow the hallway until you find Room 411. (If you take the stairs, make a right in front of the elevators.)
