Bioethics Research Library Collects COVID-19 Resources

Over the last six months, the Bioethics Research Library has contributed to the COVID-19 DigitalGeorgetown collection.

Jonathan Zarrillo, Archivist and Research Librarian, has aggregated many of the materials added to the collection.

“When the pandemic hit last spring, scholars at Georgetown were quick to respond, especially those at the KIE and the Pellegrino Center for Clinical Bioethics,” Zarrillo said.

A digital collection of COVID-19 resources supports both ongoing research in pandemic ethics and historical documentation of COVID-19 scholarship.

“The bioethical aspects of the pandemic were discussed in a number of lectures, panel discussions, and articles which were published online. Given the ephemeral nature of web content, the BRL Archives decided to start collecting these materials immediately. We anticipate future researchers will be keenly interested in the initial response to the pandemic.”
