Senior Research Scholar Robert Veatch will give a lecture on the future of bioethics entitled “21st Century Bioethics: Why It’s Wrong to Ask Your Doctor If Viagra Is Right for You” on Thursday, October 23rd, in the KIE’s Bioethics Research Library.
The lecture, co-sponsored with the Georgetown University Press (GUP), is part of a year-long celebration of the Press’s 50th anniversary. You can take a walk through 50 years of Georgetown publishing history on the GUP tumblr.
The press publishes in five subject areas that draw on some of the intellectual strengths of University: International Affairs; Languages and Linguistics; Religion and Ethics; Public Management and Public Policy; and Bioethics. The talks for this celebratory year are aligned with these themes.
Dr. Veatch has published (as author or editor) over forty books, including the GUP’s own Hippocratic, Religious, and Secular Medical Ethics, and serves as a member of the GUP Advisory Board.
