KIE Scholar to host HDCA pre-conference

On September 10, Henry Richardson, a Professor of Philosophy at Georgetown University and Senior Research Scholar at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics will host an introductory event to the 2015 Human Development & Capability Association’s (HDCA) annual conference. This pre-conference, titled Global Justice Philosophy in 2015 – Taking Stock will examine the current state of global justice theorizing.

Confirmed speakers for the event include:

Leif Wenar, King’s College London;
Simon Caney, Oxford University;
Judith Lichtenberg, Georgetown;
Speranta Dumitru, Université Paris Descartes.

The pre-conference event is open to all and will begin at 9 AM EST. Participants can then also attend the opening plenary session of the annual HDCA conference.

The HDCA conference brings together international scholars and practitioners that seek to build an intellectual community focused on the ideas of human centered development and the capabilities approach. This year’s theme is Capabilities on the Move: Mobility and Aspirations.
