Spanish translation of Gómez-Lobo and Keown, Bioethics and the Human Goods

Senior Research Scholar John Keown flew to Santiago, Chile, to attend the launch on 22 November of the Spanish translation of Bioethics and the Human Goods, an introduction to natural law bioethics that was drafted by Professor Alfonso Gómez-Lobo, completed by Keown after the former’s untimely death and published by Georgetown University Press in 2015.

The Spanish version, Bioética y los bienes humanos, translated by María Alejandra Carrasco, is the result of a collaboration between Georgetown University Press and Ediciones UC of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, a university with which Alfonso was closely associated.  The launch was attended by Alfonso’s widow and children and his former Chilean colleagues, including the University Rector, who commissioned the translation to honor Alfonso.

The launch was followed by a talk given by John Keown about the second edition of his book Euthanasia, Ethics and Public Policy, which will be published in the US by Cambridge University Press this week.
