Dr. Aisha M. Lewis, MS, DPS, is a Visiting Researcher at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics. Her postdoctoral research focuses on the moral status of the IVF embryo, the ethical implementation of emerging preimplantation technologies and the ethical issues surrounding Third Party Reproduction. She received her BA in Anthropology and Sociology from Colgate University in 1997, her Masters of Science in Biomedical Ethics from Albany Medical College in 2017, and her Doctorate in Biomedical Ethics and Policy from Albany Medical College in 2019. She has presented her work at the World Congress of Bioethics, the Reproductive Ethics conference and the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities. Having served the Reproductive Medicine community for almost 20 years as a Tissue Bank Director and Third Party Reproduction Manager, Aisha’s direct experience with challenging ethical dilemmas influenced her decision to become a Bioethicist. She currently serves as the staff Bioethicist on the California Cryobank Life Sciences Clinical Team.
