About the Institute
Established in 1971 with a founding interest in medical ethics, the KIE is one of the oldest academic ethics centers in the world. Today it is a place where ethicists educate the next generation and engage in rigorous, sustained conversation with experts and practitioners across disciplines to respond directly and meaningfully to the pressing ethical issues of our time.
As the Kennedy Institute looks to the future, new programs and activities are evolving, including plans for a new Emergent Ethics Network in collaboration with the Pellegrino Center for Clinical Bioethics, the Environmental Justice Program, and the Center for Digital Ethics.
