On-campus walking directions for Beauchamp Festschrift March 26, 2026

The Festschrift will take place at Lohrfink Auditorium on the second floor of the Rafik B. Hariri Building. Please note there is quite a lot of construction on campus. These directions should help you avoid constructions and stairs.

From Georgetown’s Front Gates at 37th & O Streets, NW (these directions avoid steep stairs)

• Walk onto the campus facing the Healy Building (the big, gray stone building with a clock tower).
• On your right past the stone guard house, there will be a sign with a campus map and a brick pathway leading diagonally across the lawn.
• Walk on that pathway to the large brick square (“Red Square”) in front of the ICC Building. Continue to your right and walk under the building arch or “overpass.”
• Make an immediate left and turn down the angled, sloping brick pathway. At the foot, cross the street, and enter the Regents Building (the building on the other side of the street).
• Inside the building, take the elevators to the 4th Floor. Exit the elevator to the right and and then turn left out the bank of glass doors on your left that lead you to an outside plaza.
• Walk along that plaza until you can enter the Hariri Building on your left. (Hariri is a building of mixed materials. You will see big glass windows from your approach, stone on the front, and brick on the back.)
• You will enter on the 3rd floor of Hariri. Take the stairs or elevators down to the 2nd floor to the Lohrfink Auditorium.
  

From the Southwest Parking Garage

To get to the Southwest Parking Garage, use the GPS address — 3611 Canal Road NW, Washington, DC 20007. This address will guide you to the Visitor Parking garage. Charge is $5/hour with a daily maximum of $25 payable cash or card. Keep your ticket. Note your car’s location (P1, P2, or P3).

There are two elevators to exit the parking garage. Depending on which elevator you use, your initial steps will vary slightly until the paths converge. You will go through the Kennedy Hall breezeway near the volleyball court

From the single elevator near overflow parking P3 (and the near side/entrance side of the garage): Take the elevator to 1. You will exit to the outside facing a sign with a GU campus map. Turn right toward the volleyball court. Then turn left on the big asphalt path along the volleyball court. When you intersect with another path on your right, turn right and walk along the volleyball court (with the court on your right). Enter the breezeway under Kennedy Dorm and keep walking through the breezeway toward the football field. Cross the street and walk to your left to the corner of the football stadium. Now turn right so the football field is on your right. Walk up the incline to the Hariri Building (the white stone building on the other end of the football field) Go up to the 2nd floor of Hariri and you will find the Lohrfink Auditorium. (If you ask people for directions they may know the building as the McDonough School of Business, the GU School housed in the Hariri Building.)

From the two elevators on the far side of garage:
Take the elevator out of the garage to 1. You will exit into a small lobby and turn left out the wooden door to end up under a building breezeway (the Kennedy Dorm). Turn to your left and walk through the breezeway toward the football field. Cross the street and walk to your left to the corner of the football stadium. Now turn right so the football field is on your right. Walk up the incline to the Hariri Building (the white stone building on the other end of the football field) Go up to the 2nd floor of Hariri and you will find the Lohrfink Auditorium. (If you ask people for directions they may know the building as the McDonough School of Business, the GU School housed in the Hariri Building.)

From the GUTS Bus (Georgetown University Transportation Shuttles) McDonough Bus Turnaround

Georgetown offers free shuttles (GUTS buses) that pick up from the Rosslyn Metro and from the Dupont Circle Metro. A link to the schedules and routes is at https://transportation.georgetown.edu/guts/. You’ll be able to see the different routes, their bus stop locations, and their timetables at that website. 

• **Please note that for the Rosslyn and Dupont Circle GUTS schedules that the University and the MedStar alternate buses at those routes and bus stops. 
• University buses do not require you to show any form of identification. 
• MedStar buses are for employees only and will require any passenger to show a MedStar employee card; you need to wait for a University bus. 
• It is difficult to tell the buses apart sometimes because they stop at the samestops and look sort of the same. Just know that if one bus requires an ID to beshown, the next bus will be run by the University and will not require you toshow a photo ID to ride to the University. 
• Some of the buses used for Georgetown Transportation say “Abe’s Transportation,” a company with which Georgetown contracts. Some buses say Georgetown and are blue and white.
• GUTS buses now all stop at the back of the University Campus. 

Walk along the bus circle and follow the sidewalk alongside the large Thompson athletic building, up West Road. You will see the football field up ahead on the right. Walk next to the football field on West Road up the hill. Hariri is the tall, stone building at the end of the football field.
