Ruaim Muaygil, MD, PhD, HEC-C: An associate professor of healthcare ethics at the College of Medicine, King Saud University, and the chairwoman of the clinical ethics committee at King Saud University Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She is a member of multiple national bioethics initiatives including at the Saudi Health Council, the Saudi Council for Health Specialities, and the Public Health Authority.
She has several published works and speaking engagements, particularly on the intersection of clinical, feminist, and Islamic bioethics.
She is currently working on a project that explores medieval Islamic philosophical works on morality with the aim of finding implications for modern Islamic bioethics practice.
She obtained her medical degree from King Saud University in 2008, a Masters of Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014, a Clinical fellowship in bioethics from the California Pacific Medical Center in 2015, and a doctoral degree in healthcare ethics from Saint
Louis University in 2018.
